Kay's Challenge

Why does Alpha Gamma Delta remain so important to Kay Taylor Donahue?

"That's easy. It's the people."

Her life-long connection to Alpha Gam sisters began as it did for so many of us - through a chapter leadership role. Kay began her service as Pledge Class President at Upsilon Chapter-University of Oklahoma, and continued on in numerous collegiate and alumnae roles including Dallas Alumnae Club President, Province Director-Alumnae and Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation Chairman. Kay has also received Alpha Gamma Delta's Distinguished Citizen Award in the field of Business, and the Circle of Epsilon Pi.

"Alpha Gam gave me the opportunity to take on leadership positions that I really didn't think I could do; yet if I made a mistake, it was within a loving safety net."

Inspired by her sisters and in celebration of her service to the ΑΓΔ Foundation, Kay issued a special 50th Anniversary challenge. Kay provided a $500 match for the first 50 Foundation donors who gave less than $1,000 last year and increased their giving to $1,000 or more by May 31, 2012.

"Each one of us has things in our paths that we can attribute to Alpha Gam - life-long friends, sisterhood, communication skills, leadership skills. Giving back to the ΑΓΔ Foundation is a way to give back for future generations... the Foundation is a fluent, dynamic organization and a set of loving arms around our sisters."

"Alpha Gamma Delta taught me leadership and that best friends come in all ages," Kay says. "I am inspired to give to the Foundation because that's the way we take care of our sisters."

Thank you Kay, for your continued care of Alpha Gamma Delta.
