ALPHA GAMMA DELTA ALUMNA ENTERS CHAPTER GRAND
Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity Headquarters is saddened to report the sudden passing of Kathryn "Katy" Benoit, a sister from the Delta Theta Chapter at the University of Idaho and a native of Boise, Idaho. Katy was the victim of an apparent homicide at her off-campus apartment Monday evening. The suspect subsequently took his life at a local motel. Katy was a recent graduate of the university and was continuing her studies in pursuit of a graduate degree in Psychology at the University of Idaho.
The proper city, university and Fraternity officials have all been notified and are taking the appropriate steps to aid the investigation. University counselors were present at Tuesday afternoon's chapter meeting. A Fraternity staff member is en-route to Moscow, Idaho, and the International Fraternity is in close contact with campus resources. The university has made grief counseling available to all members of the chapter.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss," International President Jackie Brannon Stutts said. "My sincerest condolences go out to Katy's family and friends during this most difficult time."
Funeral arrangements will be shared as they become available. Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity and Alpha Gams across the country are keeping Katy's family and members of Delta Theta Chapter in their thoughts.
