(INDIANAPOLIS) Alpha Gamma Delta is saddened to announce that two collegians have recently entered Chapter Grand.

Courtney Carter, Gamma Beta-Florida State University
Courtney passed on November 23, 2014, as a result of complications from systemic lupus. She was a well-loved member of her chapter and exemplified all the true qualities of a leader on campus, in her community and within Alpha Gamma Delta. Despite a six year battle with her disease, she always had a smile on her face that lit up the room.

"She cared and loved so much for other people, and she is a true inspiration that we all strive for," said Julia Mudd, Gamma Beta's Chapter President. "It was an honor to call her a friend and a privilege to call her a sister."

The funeral was held at the Cathedral of St. Jude in St. Petersburg, Florida, on November 29.

Hope Johnson, Gamma Delta-Auburn University
Hope passed on December 4, 2014, as a result of an undetermined medical issue. A junior majoring in Computer Science, Hope was known for her bright smile and contagious laugh.

"Hope was a joyous light in our chapter," said Caroline Beauchaine, Gamma Delta's Chapter President. "Everyone loved her for her compassion and cheerfulness. She will be greatly missed, and we will treasure deeply our sweet memories of our too short time with Hope."

The funeral was held at First Baptist Church Trussville in Trussville, Alabama, on December 8.

The Fraternity is keeping Gamma Beta Chapter, Gamma Delta Chapter and both sisters' families and friends in our thoughts during this difficult time. The appropriate staff members and volunteers are working with the chapters to ensure they are receiving the support they need. Sympathy cards may be mailed to the respective chapter at:
