Snacking is fine, if you keep it within limits. Go for snacks of about 100 calories or less. Healthy options are fat-free Jello pudding snacks (1 cup = 90 calories), cups of unsweetened applesauce (1 cup = 50 calories), or Orville Redenbacher’s smart pop mini bag (1 mini bag = 100 calories).

Exercise

Disclaimer: Before beginning any exercise routine, be sure to check with your doctor.

When exercising regularly, it’s important to pay attention to your body, especially if you begin to experience significant or unusual pain. Training too excessively or intensely can damage your body, and poor body mechanics like muscle strength imbalance or muscle inflexibility may increase the chance of injury. Be sure to check with your doctor if pain, stiffness or any general uncomfortable feeling arises. Exercise is vital for healthy living, but at the same time, its imperative to listen to what your body might be telling you.

Events and Activities

Summer is a great time for a trip to the zoo or doing some sightseeing. There is plenty to see while you accumulate your 10,000 steps/day. Added bonus if you take some kids, they are exercising as well and not sitting in front of the TV playing video games.
